Why take your school trip to Zell am See
With its lakeside location surrounded by towering mountains, varied skiing including the year round Kitzsteinhorn glacier and its 13th Century pedestrianized centre with plenty of shops and restaurants, it’s not hard to see why Zell am See is an iconic ski destination.
The 136km of skiing is split over three mountains, with plenty of pistes for all abilities. The Schmittenhohe ski area is accessed from Zell, with the Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn glacier areas accessed via Kaprun. The diverse ski area has plenty of slopes for beginners and expert skiers, with intermediates particularly well catered for.
After a day on the slopes, you won’t struggle to find things to do in the evening, including swimming, ice-skating, watching an ice-hockey match, curling and sleigh rides.
