Why take your school trip to Zell am See
With its lakeside location surrounded by towering mountains, varied skiing including the year round Kitzsteinhorn glacier and its 13th Century pedestrianized centre with plenty of shops and restaurants, it’s not hard to see why Zell am See is an iconic ski destination.
The 136km of skiing is split over three mountains, with plenty of pistes for all abilities. The Schmittenhohe ski area is accessed from Zell, with the Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn glacier areas accessed via Kaprun. The diverse ski area has plenty of slopes for beginners and expert skiers, with intermediates particularly well catered for.
After a day on the slopes, you won’t struggle to find things to do in the evening, including swimming, ice-skating, watching an ice-hockey match, curling and sleigh rides.

Alpine Roller Coaster
This all-year tobogganing track is great fun, you are pulled 750m up the mountain and if you don't use the breaks you can hit speeds of over 40km/h along the 1,300m long descent.Alpine Roller Coaster

Located in Kaprun, the stylish 'Four Seasons' Hotel is extremely well appointed with a very comfortable lounge/lobby and a lovely wellness centre including a swimming pool. The rooms are spacious and accommodating with modern design and a pleasant atmosphere. This hotel is perfect for school groups who would prefer individual rooms rather than dorm accommodation.
