School Ski Trips to Davos
Why take a a school ski trip to Davos?
Davos is a small Swiss town with an international appeal that has always extended beyond its own ski slopes and those of the Parsenn ski area that it shares with neighbouring Klosters.
It can consider itself a pioneering town when it comes to ski tourism. In the 1880's a local businessman bought a pair of the newfangled "Norwegian snowshoes", as skis were known at the time. The sport captivated Sir Arthur Conan Doyle whose wife was having treatment in Davos for TB. He shared his passion with the readers of Strand magazine and a whole new type of winter tourism was born. The town has never looked back.
Outside of snowsport, Davos is host to the World Economic Forum (WEF), an annual meeting of global political and business elites (often referred to simply as Davos).
This former hotel is located only 150m from the Rinerhorn-gondola station in Davos-Glaris. This welcoming guesthouse offers twin and quad rooms with plenty of communal showers and toilets on each floor. A large lounge and a wood-panelled dining room command superb views of the surrounding alpine landscape.
The "Waldschlössli” is a perfect group accommodation located directly in the centre of Davos-Platz. The house was completely renovated in 2010 and offers newly furnished single and double rooms, new 4/5-bedded rooms, as well as a couple of 6-8 bedded rooms with shower and toilet. Additionally there are a large number of shared toilets and showers on each floor. The house is also equipped with a small club in the basement, a sauna, and a lounge/bar/TV and gaming area.
Access to the ski area Parsenn is only 160m away and the lift to the Jakobshorn is just a few minutes walk further.
